Reforming history broadcasting

We affirm that it’s essential to celebrate the truth of our story as a nation in order to be wise and realistic about shaping our future.

However, history programmes are often made in a politically correct way that seeks to airbrush out or undermine the Christian foundations of many principles we recognise as essential for a free society.

Therefore we urge broadcasters to widen the remit of their religious affairs teams not just to focus on ‘religious magazine pieces’ but to engage constructively in the programmes developed by other teams, especially historical documentaries and period dramas.
